Nick Jonas 'Anxious' About Fans' Response To Solo Album

Nick Jonas is used to recording and releasing music with his brothers, but this time he's going at it on his own. His solo album, Who I Am, with his side project the Administration, will hit stores February 2 and Nick insisted he isn't going to worry about how it fares on the charts — he's more concerned with how the fans will respond.

"I'm feeling it ... I'm feeling the vamp-up," he told MTV News backstage at his recent show at the Beacon Theatre in New York. "It's exciting. It's just hard to believe it's all happening. I'm thankful to everyone who made it possible."

So is Jonas feeling the pre-album jitters? Nervous about how the fans will feel about his first album without his brothers by his side? Well, not at the moment, but ask him again closer to February 2. "Not so much nervous," he said. "I think once we get closer I might be anxious to see what the response is, but so far it's been good and that's encouraging."

While he's used to his albums hitting the top of the charts, he isn't expecting that to automatically happen with this effort — it's really just about the music. "I think you always think about it, but with this project it's different," he explained. "I don't have any expectations going into it. I just know I made a record that I'm proud of and hopefully people that buy it listen to it with open ears and open minds and enjoy what they hear."
